The Irish International Hotel and Catering School (IIHCS) is an institute based in Galway, Ireland. Founded in 2003, the school has been providing education for prospective hotel management and catering professionals ever since by offering a variety of courses to become a college that meets the needs of students from different categories.
The IIHCS provides full-time courses in Culinary, Tourism and Business that are all approved by QQI- formerly FETAC (Further Education and Training Awards Council). Our course focus is on both theory and practical application. In addition to regular classes, there will be placement sessions in various restaurants and hotels subject to certification requirements. The courses offered have been expanded recently to include management and business related awards from Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI).
Work placement which is a required part of the certification process for Professional Cookery Courses, is outlined by QQI requirement and is supervised by IIHCS to ensure quality and excellence.
The school’s status as a registered provider of QQI ensures that graduates of the IIHCS will be acknowledged in all European Union countries, and are eligible to apply directly to institutes of technology or universities of Ireland. Graduates are awarded the QQI Certificates, recognised in Ireland, the EU and beyond.
